HAV Facts: Wash Hands Well, And Often To Avoid Hepatitis A Unlike hepatitis B & C which are spread by blood and body fluids, hepatitis A is spread from food contaminated with the virus or from contact with human feces. HBV can live on a dry surface for at least 7 days. Wash your hands well!   Write you Senator and Representative and show your support!

About Bosco's Buddies

My name is George Boscarino (aka Bosco), and I, like millions of people, am currently fighting a silent killer called Hepatitis C (HCV) that affects the liver and for which there is no present cure or vaccine.

I have created Bosco's Buddies out of the desire to promote awareness of and better education about Hepatitis among people, the Media and Government. Increased awareness will lead to wider publicity and more funding of research into new treatments and a cure. Better education will help slow the rate of transmission and assist those with the disease to make lifestyle and medical choices that will allow them to live a longer, healthier life even with the disease.

My running buddies and I have formed Bosco's Team. Our kick-off event was the ING New York City Marathon on November 2, 2003. There were 20 of us in our red Bosco's Buddies shirts! This was the first of many running events that we have taken part in! The New Jersey Marathon was our next big event, and another success as we spread the word about HCV both on the run and at our booth in the marathon expo.

Bosco's Buddies will continue promote awareness and research of HCV, liver disease and organ transpantation at running events throughout the globe both on the course and at expos. If you are an Event Director and would like to get involved in any way please contact us.
